Three-Season Rooms or Four-Season Rooms: The Difference!

    Last updated 6 years ago

Once you move into your new home, there’s bound to be several things that you want to change—the kitchen may not suit your needs or the carpet may be out-of-style, or you may simply wish you had more space. If space is the issue, deciding what kind of home addition you want could be difficult. This article will help you determine the difference between three-season and four-season rooms so you can add new space to your new place:

    Three-Season Room

A three-season room can be enjoyed for three seasons out of the year. It’s a balance between a porch and a living room—three-season room owners can take in the fresh air and light of the outdoors while still enjoying the comfort of indoor furniture. Since three-season rooms don’t have insulated walls, homeowners don’t use them during the winter. You can use your three-season room during the winter, of course, but you’ll probably need a space heater and a lot of blankets.

    Four-Season Room

Unlike a three-season room, a four-season room has all of the amenities necessary for year-round enjoyment. Insulated walls and windows make it practical for a homeowner to heat their four-season room using the HVAC system that warms the rest of the home. If you so choose, you could even supply plumbing and electricity to your four-season room. Of course, the additional season of enjoyment comes with a price—the walls, insulation, and windows can make you feel further separated from the charms of the outdoors.

If you’d like to add a three- or four-season room to your home, contact the William Gordon Group today. Once we’re finished with your three- or four-season room, we can also help you convert your garage, remodel your kitchen, and work on any other home improvement projects.
