A home remodeling project is a way to build life into an aging space. Custom home building contractors can add additions to your home, which offer more than just new space. A home remodel is a big project with beautiful end results, especially when the homeowner takes the time to get the job done well. Make sure you are comfortable with the following:
Create a budget. One of the first things to do as a part of your planning phase is to create your budget. Planning and budgeting are closely intertwined, and they will dictate a few shared factors, including how much remodeling can be done. Your home remodel will meet your hopes and expectations with the right custom home builder.
Find the right contractor. A quality contractor can make all the difference when you’re considering home additions or a remodel. They can assist you during your planning phase and help you accomplish your design goals no matter what your budget encompasses.
Allow time to plan and build. You’ve walked around your home and thought of which rooms could really use a few more square feet as well as which kinds of home additions you’d like to have built. Now is the time to plan in detail with your custom home builder or contractor. They can help you determine what is possible for your home remodel and how long it will realistically take to complete the project.
Make your new space your own. Showroom-quality furnishings and fixtures look great in a shiny new setting, but without a personal touch, the new rooms can appear sterile. Don’t be afraid to decorate your remodeled space or new home addition with items old and new that tell stories about your family. It’s these kinds of touches that transform a house into a home.

A home addition gives your house fresh life with a new space. A sunroom is a unique home remodeling project that allows you to enjoy the outdoors without ever setting foot outside. When you add a sunroom to your home, you get all the benefits of a sunny day without being exposed to the elements or outdoor pests.
Why Choose a Sunroom?
A sunroom naturally consists of many windows to let in as much natural light as possible. This home addition is simply a new part of your home, with the same climate control and comfort you enjoy in the rest of your house. Speak with your contractor about energy-efficient windows for your sunroom addition. Efficient windows will allow all the light in but reduce your cooling loss and solar heat gain during the hot summer months. Plants are a great décor option along with outdoor furniture for a real patio feel, but your options are truly endless for decorating your new space.
How Is a Sunroom Designed?
When you hire a custom home builder to design and construct your sunroom, the only restrictions are the size of your lot and your budget. A sunroom can be a cozy retreat to watch a thunderstorm in complete safety or an expansive home addition that provides room for entertaining and gatherings as well.
A sunroom home addition can add a lot of charm and value to your house. You’ll be adding more space that is functional and beautiful. A custom home builder can help you find sources of inspiration with their extensive experience, especially if you take a look at their portfolio of completed projects.
The William Gordon Group will help you design and create a beautiful home addition from the ground up. Visit our website to see how a new sunroom can brighten your home or call us at (317) 353-3759 for more information today.

The Village in Zionsville welcomes “My Sugar Pie”; The newest William Gordon Group project. Renovating this turn of the century Federal Style home into a fully functioning Pie Kitchen was a blast. The owners were terrific and we have developed a friendship that will last for years.
The process of designing and building a new facility for a small business is an exciting process. However if not closely controlled, it can become a nightmare. Architects do not have a true grasp of the costs and often you end up with a design that is double the budget and having spent a large sum on a design that is useless.
William Gordon Group worked with My Sugar Pie designing a store that was exactly on budget. The owners were able to see all the detail and adjusted the design to spend the dollars where it mattered most to their business. We worked to minimize disruption to the existing facility and maximize the ”Cool” factor of the retail space and functionality of the kitchen.
The project was completed on the exact day scheduled and the final cost was within 2% of the original budget. While I would love to take all the credit, the owners were heavily involved and their attention to detail was critical in achieving these great results.
William Gordon Group excels at these types of design build projects and we are proud to have been responsible for “My Sugar Pie”.
